Arcadia’s specialist consultants partnered with the bank’s Risk division and Learning and Development team to build an engagement and behavioural change framework that enabled business priorities, internal processes and structures to be aligned with the new strategic vision.
The new strategic narrative, a story of the Risk division’s journey and the work and behaviours required to enable change, was developed by engaging first with the Risk Executive Committee and then 120 senior managers during a two-day conference. Through the use of Blackberries to collect detailed feedback and votes, Arcadia were able to produce the final strategic narrative just two days after the conference ending.
Through a micro site on the bank’s intranet, a series of one-day workshops for managers worldwide and then the delivery of sixteen two-day programmes in eight locations around the world, the new strategic narrative was publicised and bought into by staff at all levels of the Risk workforce.
Programme sponsors believe that the initiative has been a vital enabler in engaging 3,000 people in realising the strategic vision and ambitions of the Risk division.
